Attack Point

noun, an easily found, uniquely identifiable location from which an orienteer uses compass and pacing techniques to find the control. The attack point is typically within 100m of the control. The planner shouldn't choose control sites that have no attack points, as the control then becomes a lottery, known as a Bingo Control.
